Description

Following the June 23, 2016 flood in West Virginia, the Greater Greenbrier Long-Term Recovery Committee, Inc. (GGLTRC) began working to bring resources together to assist with recovery. Much of GGLTRC’s work has focused on working with their partners to help flood victims with meeting unmet needs involving housing construction/renovations, volunteer management, etc. GGLTRC and their partners have also been working on community and economic development projects as part of long-term recovery. Upcoming brownfields redevelopment is a valuable component of these community and economic redevelopment efforts. These efforts are producing valuable end uses that can bring life to underutilized brownfields sites across the flood-impacted communities.
