Morgantown, W.Va. — The Northern West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center located at West Virginia University, in conjunction with the Brownfields Assistance Center at Marshall University, recently helped communities submit grant applications totaling $3.2 million to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The EPA has an estimated $59.5 million in brownfield grants to be distributed nationally this year to help towns conduct property assessments and aid in the cleanup of environmentally hazardous areas.
