
The Preservation Alliance of West Virginia is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Preserve WV AmeriCorps Program service year. The WVU BAD Buildings Program is one of the several sites hoping to host another AmeriCorps Member this upcoming service year.
The Preserve WV AmeriCorps member will serve from the Northern WV Brownfields Assistance Center office on West Virginia University’s Evansdale Campus in Morgantown mostly during weekday business hours, with some assignments during evenings and weekends. The member’s service will be concentrated on capacity building for selected BAD Buildings communities to assess place- and asset-based economic development opportunities and implement redevelopment-associated activities throughout the service year.
The members should expect to coordinate projects internally with the BAD Buildings Program assisting directly with BAD Building program administration such as developing & maintaining resource files, completing community inventories and identifying properties to be prioritized for redevelopment, implementing the agency’s outreach plan, communications outreach, and volunteer management for events, education & outreach.
