The WV Brownfields Assistance Centers were created to help communities access federal funding for brownfield redevelopment. Staff at both Centers are experts in US EPA Brownfield grant processes and proposals and provide ongoing support to EPA Brownfield grantees.

Each year, the BACs partner with US EPA and the WVDEP to provide virtual and in-person grant trainings to prepare applicants to submit competitive proposals for brownfield assessment, cleanup, and planning funding. Our team is also available to provide support in finding background and demographic data, writing and reviewing sections of your grant, understanding attachments and supplementary information, and more.

For successful applicants, BAC staff can help navigate the cooperative agreement process, finding your Qualified Environmental Professional, and any other questions related to implementation of your grant.

For those unsuccessful, we provide debriefs and strategy sessions on how to apply again, or what other resources may be available.
