Feb. 15 – Learn more about accessing project funding and attracting investors!

Join the Northern WV Brownfields Assistance Center to learn more about how you can access up to $75,000 in technical assistance to help refine your development project and then find investors who can bring it to reality.

On February 15, the NBAC will host an information session on attracting project investment, including additional information on the Opportunity Appalachiainitiative. Topics will include a deep dive into the OA program, examples of successful projects, the technical assistance deployed, a tour of an active previous OA project at Staats Hospital, and discussions on what investors are looking for from experienced lenders and project leads in West Virginia.

Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend this session to assure a more thorough understanding of the OA initiative, as well as to help them build a more competitive application. For applications to be considered for funding through OA, all applicants must attend this event or schedule a one-on-one discussion with WV program lead, Ray Moeller.

Opportunity Appalachia targets real estate projects that support downtown development, healthcare, education, recreation & tourism, food systems, clean energy, manufacturing, and affordable housing. Throughout 2024 and into 2025, OA will select high-impact projects to each access $40,000 – $75,000 in technical assistance in areas such as design, business planning, market studies and financial structuring, and assist in the development of investment prospectus, creation of project pitch videos and presentations, and make connection with investment sources. OA 2024 expects the selected projects to attract up to $150 million in private investment to participating Central Appalachian communities.
