The EPA has released the Request for Proposals and guidelines for their FY 2016 Brownfields Funding Opportunities. These brownfields grants may be used to address sites contaminated by petroleum and hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances co-mingled with petroleum). Opportunities for funding are as follows:

Brownfields Assessment Grants (each funded up to $200,000 over three years; Assessment Coalitions are funded up to $600,000 over three years)

Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Grants (each funded up to $1,000,000 over five years)

Brownfields Cleanup Grants (each funded up to $200,000 over three years).

Grant Writing Assistance

The Northern West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center will be conducting two grant writing webinars to assist in preparing your FY 2016 EPA Brownfields grant. The webinars will take place Tuesday, November 10 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM and Wednesday, November 18 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. More detailed information on the webinars, including instructions on how to connect, will be released soon.
